The go to guide for dining in the South-West
2017 has been a successful year for Lewtrenchard yet again, both for its well-deserved recognition as a hotel, as well as the applause for the team that run it. In terms of critically acclaimed prizes, Lewtrenchard can now boast a number of prestigious awards such as the Trencherman’s Awards, Devon Tourism Awards, Good Hotel Guide and Visit England.
Recently, the Front of House Team were publicly recognised as the best front of house team, beating other extremely prominent hotels in the finals of The Trencherman’s Guide Awards, such as Hotel Tresanton, which is closely associated with Hotel Endsleigh, Little Barwick House and Oliver’s. We are both very proud and honoured to have been recognised, for our team is both very small and very close-knit. We feel that this is one of the main reasons we have the nickname of ‘Home Away-From-Home’.
OUR OTHER AWARDS
Good Hotel Guide, Devon Tourism Awards and Trivago
We feel privileged to have won Silver in the Small/Boutique Hotel section of the Devon Tourism Awards, again beating a number of beautiful small hotels to claim our well-earned award. In terms of winning different categories, we won both the Historic Hotels as well as the Country House hotels section in the Good Hotel Guide.
What must also be mentioned is retention of our Gold Award in Visit England and we must note that as difficult as it is to win an award, it is even harder to hold onto the title consecutively. We also added to this title by winning the Rose Award in Visit England, adding to our spread. Trivago also cited us in the Top 10 3* Hotels, which as a huge search engine that takes into accounts thousands of hotels is very well done. We retained the rating of 5 in the Good Food Guide, a feat in itself for us due to the avid ‘Foodie’ readers and writers of the magazine.
