Enjoy a tour and tasting experience at Alder Vineyard followed by a delicious Afternoon Tea here at Lewtrenchard. Alder Vineyard is our most local vineyard, situated just a mile away from the Manor Run by three generations of the Westlake family, Alder’s small vineyard lies on a well drained and south facing part of the estate growing Madeleine Angevine vines to produce a crisp, dry white with fruity overtones and Rondo vines to produce a dry rosé with summer berry flavours.

St Luke’s Hospice Open Gardens August

Wednesday 1st August

Come and see our fabulous grounds in full bloom and aid a fantastic charity The Gardens designed by Walter Sorel extend over several acres with streams, a sunken garden, a profusion of shrubs, a huge rustic dovecote and a recently restored walled vegetable garden. There are timeless walks from the gardens along Madam’s walk, on the banks of the river Lew and to the woods and beyond.
Refreshments will be served in the house.

£5 entry fee, proceeds go to St Luke’s Hospice

History & Garden Tour – August

Take a step back into the Jacobean and Victorian era and explore the fascinating history of the Manor with proprietor Sue Murray including an informative tour of the gardens and grounds with our gardener Martin Ashley.

Sue gives a truly interesting talk and includes many personal experiences that she and her family have had during their life here at Lewtrenchard.

A fabulous time to showcase our wonderful kitchen garden that Martin Ashley keeps for us. Join us for an interesting day with Matthew Peryer our chef and Martin who will provide you with lots of useful information on growing your own and how to store, preserve and cook your growing achievements.

9.30am: Arrival with tea / coffee and homemade biscuits
10.00am: Join our gardener for a tour of our vegetable garden. Take the opportunity to ask Martin any green fingered questions that you may have.
12.00noon: Vegetables will be picked throughout the tour whereupon returning to the house, chef will show you how to prepare the produce and cook a delicious meal.
1.00pm: Two course Lunch
