On Arrival at Lewtrenchard Manor

Our Car Park is at the front and side of the Hotel.

The front Car Park is flat; the side Car Park is sloped.

You may park at the front entrance of the hotel to drop off luggage or passengers.

There are stone steps up to the main front door or there is a level entrance from the side car park directly into reception through the paved courtyard.

A porterage service is available for help with luggage.

Checking In


Once inside the hotel there is access to reception on ground floor with no steps or ramps.

The reception desk may be too high for those in a wheel chair; if this is the case an alternative table is provided.

We do not have a hearing loop at reception.

The Ground Floor


All our main public rooms are on the ground floor level; lounge, bar, library, ballroom, both restaurants and the toilet facilities.

All our rooms are well lit.

There are toilet facilities on the ground floor for those with specific needs.

There is a slope to enter the bathroom.

There is a raised toilet, grab rails and a lowered sink.

There are baby changing facilities also available.

Bedrooms


A banister runs all the way up the main stairs to the west landing on the left hand side of the stairs. This landing leads to the gallery rooms on the first floor where there are then two steps down to the gallery from the landing. The landing also leads to the west wing rooms (Eudoxia, Lyndhurst, Prince Rupert), which has two steps up to the rooms, then a further three steps up to two of the rooms (Lyndhurst & Prince Rupert).

There are four rooms along the main gallery upstairs (Hornsea, Melton, Nonington & St Gertrude). Melton has a high four poster bed in it. Hornsea has 6 steps up to the bathroom.

There are two rooms up a flight of stairs from the gallery in the eaves of the house (Aurelia & Siyahambah). Siyahambah has a low beam in the corridor between the bathroom and bedroom.

There are four courtyard rooms, St Clements, Warrington, Seymour and Bromley. All except Warrington are on the ground floor. There are 12 steps up to Warrington, which is just off the courtyard. St Clements is also just off the courtyard and has a step down to the bed area.

To the front of the hotel is a folly tower which is the bedroom Merrial. It has access from the ground floor, and the bathroom is situated downstairs. The bedroom is situated up a flight of stairs.

Non-feather or synthetic pillows are available on request.

The fire alarm is audio only however systems have been put in place to ensure the safe exit of all guests in the case of an emergency. If you have any concerns on this issue our Duty Manager will be pleased to talk to you about these procedures.

Stair Lift


There is a stair lift available on the rear staircase up to the gallery rooms on the first floor, then there are 5 steps to get up on to the main gallery.

Bromley our Wheelchair Access Room


There is a slope up from the courtyard and then a flat entrance with a hand rail along to Seymour and Bromley. Bromley is a universal access room with a walk in shower, in shower seat and grab rails, raised toilet with grab handle to the left of the toilet, in shower seat, grab rail by the bath and on the door and an emergency alarm pull cord.

The Dining Room


Most diets can be catered for by prior arrangement.

A table near the door in the restaurant can be arranged for easy access.

Chairs and tables in the restaurant can be moved.

Chairs with arms are available in the dining room on request.

Lighting levels in the restaurant are generally lower in the evenings.

A large print menu is available on request.

Other Information


Guide dogs are welcome

Reception is manned from 7.30am until 11pm. There is always a duty manager on site overnight.

Room service is available to any guests wishing to have meals in their rooms.

The hotel has no signs or literature in Braille.
