10.00am: Join our gardener for a tour of our vegetable garden. Take the opportunity to       ask Martin any green fingered questions that you may have.
12.00: Vegetables will be picked throughout the tour where upon returning to the house chef will show you how to prepare the produce and cook a delicious meal.

Program & Equipment List

Through out the two days we will make quick sketches, and more detailed drawings, try to free our hands and get the feel of our subjects, always from life.
You will have a chance to see Jennie’s original diaries some of which were compiled and published in ‘The Nature Diary of an Artist’ and see how she works.
There will be books for reference and a slide show at the end of the day.
Remember, hat, water or wind proof coat, suitable shoes. Don’t worry we won’t go far but it will be fun to work outside weather permitting.
The itinerary below gives you a rough out line of how the day will run we will also have a session on writing notes for your journal, very informal.

Day 1 Sunday 8th September 2013
9.00am       Coffee & tea in Ballroom and a chance to meet Jennie & discuss the break
9.30am       Tuition starts
1.00pm       Lunch – two course buffet
2.00pm       Painting tuition
4.00pm       Cream Tea or Coffee in the lounges

Day 2 Monday 9th September 2013

If people would like Jennie can be available before breakfast from 7.00am onwards for a pre-breakfast session stopping for breakfast at 8.30, but you must check with Jennie the night before if you wish to do this.

Day 3 Tuesday 10th September 2013

7.00am       Pre-breakfast session if required

Materials to bring
-          Soft pencils

-          Black felt tips

-          Cheap sketch book (children’s ones are ideal) newsprint or cheap cartridge paper.

-          Watercolour sketch book (fat pads are ideal, not surface). Watercolour paper comes in three surfaces hot press which is smooth, rough which has a textured surface and not rough which has a slight smooth texture

-          Artists watercolours, I use pans, but others use tubes

-          Mixing palette, if you have water colour boxes then that’s perfect

-          A selection of brushes, Synthetic are fine, if possible 1 big one a size 10 or 12 and then a 6 and or 3 or there about.

-          Two water containers jars are ok but plastic with screw lids are best.

-          Cleaning rag.

-          Water bottle for extra water,

-          Note book and pen

-          If you would like a hard back sketch books for journals; let us know, we can get them for £10
