Short on Parking

A Wonderful Success

Sunday 7th May saw Lewtrenchard open up its gate for its annual ‘Open Garden’ event. Lewtrenchard works with St Luke’s Hospice volunteers in order to raise money for the charity. With all fundraising and open days, you’re never truly aware of just how many people may turn up; it could be as few as 50 on some occasions. This year blew all expectations out of the park; with a staggering 407 through the door, not including the children (who entered free)!

Of those 407, each was charged an entrance fee of £5 by the charity. This generated a total of £2037 for the charity, a total success! Whilst the event was a huge hit, it must be noted that the cars were running out of places to park. Resorting to parking on the road meant that staff members had to park ten minutes up the road!
